Mr Kesang Tenzing Bhutia Principal of The Central School for Tibetans at Kalimpong passed away yesterday night . He was rushed to hospital after his health deteriorated yesterday but could not reach the hospital . 

Mr Bhutia taught History at Tashi Namgyal Academy, Gangtok (1980-1984) and at Dr. Graham’s Homes (1984-1992). In August 1992 he was selected to be the Principal with the Central Tibetan Schools Administration.

As Principal in the CTSA, he has served in Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Mundgod, Karnataka, Mussorie and Uttarkhand. He currently served as the Principle of the Central School for Tibetans at Kalimpong.

In 2010 he received the National Teachers Award from the President of India.  His funeral will be held on Friday, Jan 17 at 7:30am
