Today the GJM Youth Wing
took out the issue of Electricity problem face the masses and submitted
a five pointer memorandum to the Divisional Manager Kalimpong
W.B.S.E.D.C.L Somnath Roy.
At present Kalimpong have a 66 kv sub station which imparts the
whole electricity within its jurisdiction. But the successful
implementation of Rajiv Gandhi Gramin bidhyutikaran Yojna and the
distribution of new electric has put massive pressure on the Sub Station
so looking into the future and the growing demand of the Electricity
the party has demanded to increase the capacity of the 66 KV to 132 KV.
Again to successful implement the billing system the Youth Wing has
demanded billing Sub offices in different rural region of the Kalimpong
which is a huge subdivision in terms of Area.
The main problem of the consumer nowadays is that of excessive
billing and meter reading, the wing has took note of the issue and have
demanded exact meter reading first and the bill and after that
distribution of bill in a proper way. Bal Krishna Thapa press and
publicity secretary of the Wing today said that we have demanded the
department to implement underground electrification in the kalimpong
Municipal area and establishment of new power sub station of 33 kv at
different area which joins the rural villages.
Meanwhile the Manager has assured the problem to be taken to his
higher authority and have seek for the help of MLA kalimpong for
establishment of 132 KV sub Station which is facing land problem.
