NATIONAL INTEGRATION CAMP CONCLUDES

A
ten day National Integration Camp, organized under the aegis of NCC
Group HQ Darjeeling, West Bengal and Sikkim NCC Directorate concluded
today amidst a colourful cultural programme on the banks of Teesta which
showcased the spirit of national integration. Major General G S Sangha,
SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding, 27 Mountain Division was Chief
Guest for the event. The objective of the National Integration Camp is
to foster appreciation for vibrant culture of India amongst cadets of
various parts of India and thereby achieving national integration.
The camp develops qualities of character, courage,
discipline, leadership, secular outlook and spirit of adventure among
the youths to create human resource organized and motivated to provide
leadership in all walks of life including the Armed Forces. A total of
624 cadets including 302 boys and 322 girls from all parts of country
attended the Camp that began on 07 February 2014.
The enthusiasm seen on the faces of participants spoke
of their wonderful time and the enriching experience they had during
this camp. Cadets acknowledged that NCC had helped them to become
responsible, discipline and motivated citizens.
Colonel M G Venkatesh of NCC Group HQ Darjeeling thanked the state
civil administration and the Army for providing the administrative
support to make this event a great success.
The function
culminated with General Officer Commanding 27 Mountain Division
appreciating the effort put up by the cadets and the conducting Staff
for the wonderful cultural display and presented awards to cadets who
had excelled in various activities.
The Cultural show would also telecasted on local channels and it
would a great opportunity for people of Kalimpong to see fine glimpses
of a cultural treasures of the country put together by the enthusiastic
Cadets who are our future.
