A Seven member joint election committee was today formed at Kalimpong in support of DDUDF Independent candidate Dr.Mahendra P Lama. A meeting of  DDUDF CPRM and Bhagop who has extended their support to Lama was held today at Shyama Devi Smriti Bhawan Thakurbari which discussed about the process of election. Speaking to Press Dr Enos Das Pradhan told that a Seven member committee has been formed in which each member of CPRM, GRNM  ,ABGL and Bhagop along with DDUDF has been inducted. Sonam Bhutia has been appointed the co coordinator of the committee . He informed that a interaction program will be held on 31st March at Town hall followed by a Election Meeting on 12 April at Mela Ground. He said that this election will see a fight between Pro Gorkhaland and Anti Gorkhaland party. Again he said in this election  we see A party which says Only Gorkhaland here and never give a place in their manifesto and Dr Lama whose aim is to carved out a separate State comprising Darjeeling Duars and Terai region. He said that soon Lama election Manifesto will be out. He appealed to The Subash Ghising the man who gave birth to Gorkhaland Word to support Lama this time. Attacking TMC party and terming it as Anti Gorkhaland he said that the people in the election EVM machine by their vote will give a strong message to TMC chief who have continuously opposed Gorkhaland.
 
Meanwhile Congress Candidate for Darjeeling Loksabha Constituency Sujay Ghatak was also in the town today who address a party meet at GDNS hall. Talking to reporter he said that it is only the congress which have and will work for the better of Darjeeling. He said that he will work to remove the difference which is made between hills and plains during last few years. On the other hand GNLF party which is now a days busy in organizational meeting and Formation today formed a town Committee and town protection committee at  Goskhan Ward no 11.
