Kalimpong Police has arrested the culprit Sunil Rai(35) of Tista Minor rape case today within 24 hour of the incident where a three year old girl was raped by a person last evening at Tista 16 kms away from kalimpong in NH 31(A) .

Tista atmosphere was tensed from last evening when the incident came into light when victim's was missing and the parents and local started searching frantically for the girl but didn't she was not located anywhere around.After that they searched her near the jungle and found her daughter in injured and bloody condition .

After the incident the accused was able to flee from the spot with the help of his two friend who was later arrested by police for helping the accused.

All the business establishment were closed after the incident until today

Today morning Tension gripped the place after the local came to the National highway 31 A and block it for half and hour . But after the news of arrest of culprit reached Tista many angry local traveled to Kalimpong
Police station where they were stopped by CRPF personal entering the P.S Kalimpong PS in charge A Gupta intervene in between the tension and later after near about 1 hour of discussion Sunil Rai was taken to Kalimpong Hospital for medical amidst Tight Security.


The victim who was referred to Kalimpong Hospital for medical examination last evening is said to out of danger. Meanwhile the examination report has confirmed Rape .

Prabal pradhan and Sambu Subba was today forwarded to Kalimpong Court where as Sunil Rai will be sent to court tomorrow.All the three arrested have been booked under 376 d and Section 4 of POCSO Act .The accused was arrested on December 2013 for a case of attempt to murder.
