the main accused in the 18th April Tista Minor Rape case was today sent
to 14 days of police remand . Rai was yesterday sent to 1 days of police
custody by court amidst heavy security . After finishing his Police
remand today he was produced before Kalimpong ACJM court where he has
been sent to 14 days of Judicial Custody by the court. Meanwhile after 4
days of incident taking this matter rarest today many NGOs and
political parties raised voices against the incident and have demanded
strict punishment for rapist. Yuwa Jagriti Sangh of Tista has said that
when the incident of Delhi rape case happened at that time people came
out with candles in the hand in kalimpong but when such a incident have
occurred in Sub division then no intellectual or party or the big men of
the society have reacted.
Mean
while a meeting of different NGOs of kalimpong was held at GDNS hall
today where a apex body was formed which will come forward and condemn
such incident and even build up pressure for action to the
administration. The body today met SDMO Kalimpong too.
GJM and GTA Chief Bimal Gurung has also expressed his protest against the incident of rape both in Kalimpong and Manipur . Gurung posted in Facebook announcing that his party will stage a mass ptotesr against both the incident on April 24 along with a dharna at all three SDO offices."This raises the security of Gorkhas in the country.According to the constitution,the Indian Gorkhas are also eligible for security" Gurung posted in FB in Nepali.
