2 killed 3 injured in accident at Pala

Two persons were killed and three injured when a jeep skidded at least 30 feet off the road near Pala Khola, 20 Kms away from Kalimpong. The incident took place around 3.45 am Saturday killing Kamal Chhetri (33) and Chandra Kumar Chhetri (32) on the spot. The vehicle with 6 passengers on board was coming from Manging to Singi after attending a funeral. The cleaner of the Jeep Puran Chhetri managed to escape by jumping from the vehicle. The injured Arun Chettri (Driver), Kiran Chettri and Zuman Chettri are admitted at Kalimpong Hospital. Kiran was later referred to NBMCH near Siliguri. The bodies of the deceased were handed over to their family after post mortem.Tags: LOCAL
