Crackdown on illegal electric connection, Consumer pay a fine of 2.19 Lakhs

The
Power department has initiated raid operation in order to find those
people who are using illegal electricity supply. Under the same, the
department on raided , a resident of 10th Mile
yesterday. A case under section 135 (i) (b) of Indian Electricity Act 2003, has been
registered against the person at the Thana by the department. The meter and many electronic appliances has
also been seized.
Station
Manager, Sanjeev Agarwal today informed the reporters that the Consumer was fined Rs 2.19 Lakhs which he paid today.
Meanwhile the department busted one more such case at KD Pradhan road today where a consumer was found bypassing the meter.
A fine of 1.70 lakhs has been imposed and a case has been filed in the Police Station
If the bill is not paid then legal actions will be taken against the consumer , he said and added that if further any person is found having illegal connection then they will not be getting any electricity supply.
