Gearing up with the mission to promote child rights with a
dignified life for children and to protect their rights by providing
them with a comprehensive growth and development, Bal Suraksha
Abhiyan-an NGO here who has been working with a vision to make Kalimpong
a child labor free society organized an annual children’s club
gathering ceremony in St. Josephs Convent’s Kenny hall where 34
children’s club under BSA turned up and participated in the function.
The motive of the function as explained by Sister Subishna Thapa, the
director of BSA was to encourage and promote the talents of the
youngsters which were proved by the little ones in the stage. Building
rapports with people and other organizations, BSA has been able to
accumulate 34 children’s club under them where they make a point to
celebrate it annually, the way children’s want. ‘Our children always
come forward to protest in a rally or in a walkathon but this time we
decided to allow them to enjoy their childhood in their way’ Said Thapa.
It was known that children from different clubs we not directed with
any specific programs by the organization, ‘Since they have understood
the significance of child rights, they, without any body’s supervision,
came up with such presentations’ added the director. The dances based on
child rights and trafficking was appreciated by everyone where acts,
songs and dances based on child sexual abuse, child motivation and child
labor lasted with loud durable applauses. However, Pedong’s children
club was felicitated by the BSA in the same program for contributing
selflessly to the fire victims of Pedong
