Award winning ‘Anmol Chan’ actor, producer felicitated

Anmol Chan has become hearsay among most of the people living in and around Kalimpong after winning the best film Prag Cine Award back in March in the capital city of Assam.
Appreciating success, Bharatya Nepali Cinema Sangsthan- an organization formed in 2007—Monday felicitated the actor Salom Kabo and the producer of the film Kishor Dungmali at town hall. Paras Kumar Singh, the sub-divisional information officer handed over the citation to the producer. Besides bagging the best film award, Anmol Chan also added laurels with best actor and actress awards in March.
The producer said that Nepali movies is not at such level to compete nationally but like minded people here have been trying to reach their acclaimed milestone through hardwork. “Although our movies cannot competed at the national level, such awards will definitely motivate us to do better in filmmaking,” said Dungmali.
Bikram Parajulee, the co ordinator of Bharatya Nepali Cinema Sangsthan, who is also a reputed director, expressing his grief said that regional movies should also get an opportunity to take them at the national level as Nepali speaking population is scattered throughout the country.
Parajulee also believes that major works have to be done in the film sector. Speaking to the journalists he said, “Lots of work should be done and if we work on multiplying the film industry we can generate a lot of employment”.
Prag Network which is a 24x7 satellite station organizes Prag Cine Award everyyear to enhance the regional cinemas. The duo later appreciated for the endorsement received from Bharatiya Nepali Cinema Sangathan.
