Kalimpong Police yesterday night seized illegal liquor from a Tata Spacio Vehicle near  at Munsong after it raided the vehicle ,SK 01 J -2272 around 8 p.m in the night after getting information in which they seized different brands of illegal liquors of Sikkim brand

The liquors were being transported from Sikkim and was supposed to be sent for sale in lava  .The police also arrested the driver of the vehicle cum owner of the Illegal liquor Phener Sherpa(40).

Sherpa resident of Lava has been booked him under the Bengal Excise Act.

Today he was produced before the Kalimpong Court from where he has been sent to 14 days of Judicial remand.

Meanwhile Kalimpong Police in a special drive yesterday arrested 31 people out of which 11 were warranty , 3 in gambling act. 5 for rough driving, 3 in specific cases and 14 in 290 cases informed police sources.
