As Bono puts it "music  can change the world as it can change people," musicians from Darjeeling and Kalimpong have started a fund raising campaign titled "Let's make Prajwal walk again".
Prajwal Lama (27) a professional tattoo artist from Darjeeling is at present rendered paralysed waist below since two months. He had injured his spine in a motor-cyle accident two months back and is since then lying immobile. Prajwal need funds to the tune of 5.80 lakh for his treatment-an exorbitant askance for a man who belongs to a dispersed family.

He lives with his aunt.Artistes perform during the fundraiser for tattoo artiste Prajwal Lama in Kalimpong on Saturday.

"Since Prajwal is an artist, we want to raise funds in an artistic way" said Lee. A. Karthak, a music enthusiast from Kalimpong.Young musicians from Darjeeling are said to be here for three days for the fund raising campaign which kicked-off  on Saturday at Dambar Chowk.

Ujjwal Chettri, a traveler by profession from Darjeeling and a campaign member said "Let’s make Prajwal walk again" is the people’s movement where individuals from diverse background have come together to help someone who is in need of support.

Adding further Chettri rued that young talents of Kalimpong are deprived of exposure which ultimately makes them disappear in oblivion. "This stage also provides opportunity to such diversely talented youths, where they can showcase their talents to the public," Chetri said.

Interestingly there are people in the team who don’t know Prajwal personally, but the act of humanity is evident in them. Armed with the confidence of building a melodious connection with the people through music, the team on day one collected Rs.10,910.

Prajwal after spending two months in a government hospital in Darjeeling was taken to the Indian Spinal Injury Center, Delhi today. The centre after conducting Prajwal's  thorough  check-up informed that the total treatment cost would be Rs.5.80 lakh.

For transparency the team publicizes each amount collected either from ‘busking’ or from an International to Indian transfer in their facebook page ‘Let’s make Prajwal walk again’ to satisfy all the contributors informed Chettri.
