Bhutia summed up his 15 minutes speech in an educative way, he directly spoke
to the students majoring in educational subject.
Praising Kalimpong for
their initiation in educational institutions the Minister later proclaimed that
Sikkim was 65 years behind in that field, ‘when Kalimpong was preparing for
their diamond jubilee of schools (old schools like SUMI and Girls High School) Sikkim
had just started with few institutions’ said Ugen Gyatso Bhutia and the auditorium
echoed with lasting applause with pride.
He also glorified the service
of Pawan Chamling, the Chief Minister Of Sikkim as the identity of Gorkhas who
is the longest serving minister of the country, ‘Before being the Chief
Minister of Sikkim, he is a Gorkha and belongs to the hills, every student
should make their own identity as the CM’’ added Bhutia.

the best academic scores in the last board exam were felicitated with P.R
Pradhan merit award and Bhaichand Puraskar, which had a citation, memento and
cash of 10,000 rupees. Kalimpong toppers (of Madhyamik) Pooja Gurung from St.
Philomena and
Bivek Sharma from SUMI were received the special award. However, other
(approximate) 80 students who scored more than 65% were also felicitated with
citations and gifts in the same program.
The other attraction of
today’s program was indeed the finals of the 20th senior quiz
competition where Saptashree Gyanpeeth took the first place of this year’s quiz
competition, St. Josephs Convent, second and the winner of 2014 Quiz competition
Rockvale Academy took the third place.

are still in an indecisive state, the school alumni might take their time to
