1 person was killed , another injured and three person are missing in a major road mishap around 1 am overnight at NH 10 when a Sikkim bound Truck met with a fatal accident at 18th Mile area under Rambi police post area . According to police sources a total of 5 passenger including driver were in the truck bearing number WB 74 C-0461 which was going toward Soreng in West Sikkim.  The vehicle was carrying the grocery items of Dipesh Agarwal(35) of Soreng  was killed in the spot according to sources, His dead body was recovered from the jungle area of the spot and later sent for post mortem at Kalimpong hospital where later his body was handed over to the family member. The Driver of the vehicle Arun Chettri was lucky who is only the sole survivor as of now. He was found in injured condition after which he was sent to Manipal Sikkim for further treatment. The load vehicle skidded from the road around 600 feet down in the river bed of Tista . Meanwhile the helper Ashish Rai, Homenath Sharma and Pemba Sherpa both driver by profession are missing. The rescue operation started from early morning under supervision of Rambi OC Sujit Lama. Himalayan Rajmarg Chakal Sangathan too lend healthy support to rescue work. About 5% of the truck part was above the water after which Crane was called to lift the Vehicle but the chain of the crane was not able to pull the vehicle was again fell back inside river Tista. Both the vehicle and missing are under the water informed police. The rescue operation will continue tomorrow.
