The first night of the indefinite protest by The district demand committee (DDC) and Aam Janata ko Awaz saw some miscreant bursting explosive as termed by Committee member near the protest spot at Trikone Park. Kalimpong Police ASP Bholanath Pandey have cleared that was not explosive but cracker with little high intensity. Informing about the overnight incident Amir Basnet coordinator of Youth Wing of DDC told that when all the member were busy sleeping first the lights were cut off and later all heard the sound of explosion . We thaught it was the nearby transformer which burst but later when a bulb nearby busted a little fire spread but our member take it in control. Due to Darkness we could see who did the stuffs but we know that it was to target our program which we are doing in peaceful way and that to fir the sake of common people he added . The DCC today filed a GD at Kalimpong station and later fax a memo to SP Darjeeling demanding security and arrest of miscreant .The police team has taken the empty cell of the cracker used. The DDC member protesting against the incident pasted poster around the town. Basnet told when such incident can happen just opposite to Kalimpong PS then how could common people live?

The Coordinator of DDC MLA Kalimpong Dr HB Chettri who is on Kolkatta when asked over phone informed that he have talked to SP Darjeeling to beef up the security at Trikone  Park. He told that he have informed about the incident to state CM Mamata Banerjee after which she assured of Talking with higher officer informed Dr Chettri.
