Kalimpong Feb 28:

A tragic incident was reported today at Triveni in Rangli Rangilet PS under Darjeeling Sub Division this after when one 15 year girl slipped at river tista and was swept by river. Meanwhile a Driver of a vehicle who was loading the stone from river bed plunged into river who was also swept later. The incident happened around 2 p.m when Easther Biswakarma(15) of Chibo Busty Kalimpong was drowned and swept away in Tista River today. The gilr who was with her family for outing at Triveni a picnic spot about 18 kms from Kalimpong slipped and was swept away after which Rupesh Tamang(30) of Kharbadi of Peshok Darjeeling plunged into river for her rescue but he too was swept as both have gone missing from the incident time. A massive search operation was done by RR PS , along with nearby Tista Check Post and Rafting Rescue Group but to no avail. Both will again be searched tomorrow as information received from police sources today.
