KKKS serves 15 days ultimatum to GTA signatories

The Kalimpong Krishak Kalyan Sangathan (KKKS),a registered federal organisation operating in all of Darjeeling hills has given a 15 days ultimatum to Three signatories of GTA Pact demanding to sort out issue regarding pending of electricity, telephones , other bill and loans during Jan  2008 to July 2011.


It may be mentioned here that during the time of GJM’s agitation in mid 2008 the public were directed not to pay telephone, electricity and many other governmental bills, because of which the public were relaxed the bill payments till July 2011. Soon after the GTA formation, the electricity bills started piling up after August 2011 and from Dec 11 BSNL started disconnecting its line. Not only this people started receiving legal notices. Even Farmers who took loans in that period could not utilized it due to agitation started receiving notices from banks.


General secretary Bishnu Chettri has said today that Non cooperation movement finished as soon as the GTA pact was signed.But after that the masses started getting notices which is continued up till now. During a long 5 year of agitation the economic condition of hill people has becomes weak as a result the process of shifting from slowly started. The organisation has said that it was the tactical failure of the party which could not settle the issue in the Pact.

He further added that now the problem has become a Crisis so we have given a 15 days of ultimatum to especially GTA to settle the crisis otherwise we have no other option to File a PIL in Supreme Court.
