Saheed Mangal Singh Rajput who committed a self immolation 30th July 2013 during Gorkhaland Agitation and later died on 3rd of August 2013 memorial at Homes dispensary have been damaged by some miscreant on Saturday night.

The Memorial which was built by GJM party in the name of Rajput who was the first person in the History of Separate state agitation who died of after committing self immolation .

The Front and lower Part of the Memorial have been damaged. The incident was seen sunday morning by Rajput Son who later informed GJM party. GTA Councillor of Homes Constituency today Nima Tamang reached the spot and verified the situation. Tamang have blamed Anti Gorkhaland forces of damaging memorial of Gorkhaland Martyr . He said those who have done this did not want Gorkhaland, Attack on Memorial is not good we condemn the incident told Tamang,

Widow of Mangal Singh Manju Rajput expressing grief and condemning said we are hurt by the incident. We want the culprit to be arrested.

After the incident GJM Kalimpong Sub divisional Committee and Family of Rajput lodge a Fir against miscreant on Sunday.

Meanwhile Gorkha Jan Mukti Yuwa Morcha ,GJM Youth Wing today submitted a reminder about the FIR given by Sub division committee to Kalimpong PS.

Barud Thapa, YM President said GJM Yuwa Morcha believes in maintaining peace and harmony in Hills but some miscreant who are politically motivated are trying to disrupt the peaceful environment which is unacceptable .

Later Yuwa morcha stick poster at Damber Chowk demanding action against the culprit.
