After the
successful meeting held in Kolkata recently regarding the re initiation of the
Regional SSC, the interview process to regularize 279 Adhoc teachers through
SSC has been started. Putting forward his views on the same the Akhil Bharatiya
Gorkha League (ABGL) General Secretary, Pratap Khati also an advocate by
profession said that the Adhoc teachers should not be recruited through
Regional SSC because it is against the rules and regulations of Adhoc for the
age and other criteria come on its way.
Further,
he acquainted that an order was passed by the Kolkata High Court in 2012 under
WP No 19997 which says that all the Adhoc teachers are appointed by the schools
because there are vacant positions and many of the Adhoc teachers who had filed
a case against it are already regularized. The High Court had ordered that
Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council (DGHC) Education Secretary to regularize the
teachers after going through the reports. Therefore, when the High Court has already
declared the decision then why do the Adhoc teachers need to sit for the SSC
interview? Is the Morcha defying the decision of the High Court by conducting
the interview? Khati questioned. The ABGL lastly demanded the appointment of
the Adhoc teachers according to the decision.
