Fact Verification Panel to be formed to verify the High Power Committee report CM holds meeting with GJM
MUKESH SHARMA
KALIMPNG, June 16:
Upset over the High Power Committee report the 21 representatives
of the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) today met with the Chief Minister (CM)
Mamata Banerjee at Writers’ Building, Kolkata during which it has been decided
that a Fact Verification Panel will be formed in order to verify the High Power
Committee report which recommended the inclusion of only 5 mouzas instead of
the demanded 398 under Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA).
"We have
demanded a rejection of the Shyamal Sen Committee report.
This report is a humiliation for us. The CM has said that a Fact Verification Committee
will be formed headed by a Secretary of the State Government to look into the
report of the Committee," said the GJM General Secretary, Roshan Giri.
The GJM Chief
Bimal Gurung already dismayed by the High Power Committee report now remaining
doubtful about the ‘to be formed’ Panel said that they cannot fully trust on
the new Committee, for it too belongs to the State Government. Unlike the High
Power Committee, this Panel should be authentic, he asserted.
When asked about the GTA elections, Gurung said that it
is not the right time to comment anything about the said elections for GTA
still remains uncertain. Once the 21 delegations return from Kolkata, the
Morcha shall then deliberate the pre planned party programmes and also chalk
out new programmes.
