Gorkha community targeted by Trinamool linguistic chauvinism - Sundas

leader Tara Sundas today criticizing the Trinamool government led by Mamata
Banerjee said that her government’s strategies are to blackout the Gorkhas from
the hills.Recently in the examination of the supervisors in the ICDS centers
which was held at St. Teresa, Darjeeling, out of the 90 marks questions, 64
marks questions were in Bengali and the rest in English. Sundas said that
people of the hills that cannot speak Bengali, is a dream like to answer in
English. The outcome of the result is pretty much understood before the
declaration, where 575 candidates from Darjeeling district have appeared for
the examination.Sundas highlighted that the Nepali language being recognized by
the constitution of the land is not accessible under the Trinamool government.
This is a high time for the intellectuals; the litterateurs to voice for the
same if not there will be little to act in future. Sundas stressing on the
State awards given by the chief minister Mamata Banerjee on 21st May
he said that none of the Gorkhas were selected. 16 personalities were conferred
with Banga Bibhusan and Banga Bhushan who had contribution in various fields.The
Hills has the Olympic gold medal winner Bir Bahadur Chettri, the present
captain of the Indian hockey team Bharat Chettri, Padmashree Sonam Tshering
Lepcha, archer Paril Lepcha who has won medals in the national championships,
national boxing champion Mani Kumar Rai, international marathon runner Roshni
Rai, Tulsi Ghimirey, the best editing award winner, Luis Bank who plays jazz
music in the Parliament, one of the finest cinematographer Binod Pradhan, Mala
Sinha and many others who has been discriminated and targeted by the Trinamool
linguistic policies even when the above the personalities in known nationwide
for their contributions added Sundas.“A strategy of withering away of Gorkha
community is being played by the Trinamool” said Sundas. The Gorkhas has till
date contributed massive toward the betterment of the nation which resulted
