Sundas demands investigation regarding the funds allocated for ICDS
MUKESH SHARMA
KALIMPONG,
June 16:
The Communist Party of
Marxist (India) (CPM) politician, Tara Sundas notifying about the job
enrollment for ICDS informed that though applications are invited from the
applicants of Kalimpong, but there is no mention of posts, interview venues and
available seats for SC, ST and OBC candidates. Telling that the same had
happened at Malda where OBC seats were not mentioned in the employment notice,
he informed that the people there had gone till the Court regarding the glitch.
Further, he acquainted
that the 13th Finance Commission, Government of India had allocated
an amount of Rs 300 crores for West Bengal State in order to construct ICDS
Centres and according to this 1663 ICDS Centres were to be constructed. But
till date no construction has happened as such. Even the MLA and the Sub
Divisional Officer who happens to be the Chairman and the Secretary
respectively are both unaware of this for they were not invited in the meeting
held between the CDPO and other concerned officers regarding this matter.
Lastly, saying that the
funds coming in for the edible items are also being misused Sundas demanded a
thorough investigation in these matters. “How much funds are coming in and
where are they being used, nobody knows about it. But unlike others, CPM will
not stay put, and we shall seek help from the Court if needed,” he concluded.
