10 companies of Para-military to be deployed for GTA election

Kalimpong, July 18
Following the upcoming Gorkhaland
Territorial Administration election, the examination of the Election Officers
was today conducted at Ramakrishna Rangamanch in Kalimpong. The SDO LN Sherpa
giving the information said that the next examination will be held on July 20
and on July 26, a meeting will be held with the Civil and the Police Sector.
Sherpa has also called a meeting with the GREF, Army, KED, PWD on Thursday to discuss
on the concern of the landslides that may occur which can hampers the election
officers to reach the remotest polling
booths. Sherpa also informed that 10 companies of the Para-military forces will
be deployed in the Hills during the GTA election.Tags: LOCAL
