3 daylong conventions of the Religious Lepcha Heads concludes

The
valedictory function of the three days long convention of the religious Lepcha
heads which was organized by the Indigenous Lepcha Tribal Association (ILTA)
was today held at the Lepcha hostel in Kalimpong.
The
first day had the presence of the tradition conservators, the second day the
Lamas of the 45 Lepcha Gumpas and the third day had the presence of the heads
of the Christian.
The
convention was to dig up awareness and propositions pertaining to the
development of the Lepcha culture, tradition, language and the customs etc. The
Lepchas are the indigenous and the first in the Hills and the continuation of
the community, the development of each Lepcha individual to its fullest was
also discussed during the meeting.
The
ILTA General Secretary NT Lepcha said that the Lepchas have to follow the
direction and formulations of the ILTA as it is the apex body of the Lepchas.
