“Bengal will be happy if you are happy” CM Banerjee CM Mamata Banerjee inaugurates 198th Bhanu Jayanti at Kalimpong

Kalimpong, July 13:
“Tapai haru kasto hunuhuncha” said the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee while addressing the inaugural function of the 198th birth anniversary of the Nepali laureate Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya at Town Hall in Kalimpong today.
The CM addressing the gathering stressed that the present Government after coming to power has been striving towards not letting the public forget the great personalities and their contribution towards the society. “Renowned poet, Acharya Bhanu Bhakta who translated Ramayana into Nepali language is a great persona”, she stated. She also announced to celebrate the 200th Bhanu Jayanti throughout West Bengal in 2013- 2014 and an establishment of a Nepali Academy at Mungpoo. For the yearlong celebrations Task Forces shall also be formed, she added.
Further, the CM speaking about tourism in the hills said that the tourist inflow in Darjeeling has been massive which has resulted congestion for which new tourists spots have to be explored. The places like Lamahatta, Takdah and Delo should be polish for attracting tourists she added. Adding further she said that in Lamahatta, tribal houses have to be constructed where the tourists can feel about the culture and tradition of the Hills and likewise a trekking route and orchid center have to be established at Takdah for attracting tourists she added. The State Government has been also planning to develop Sandakphu as a tourist destination said that Chief Minister.
 “We will develop Kalimpong” said CM Banerjee highlighting the beautiful spots in and around Kalimpong. She also laid emphasis on the preservation of the herbal plants establishing Ayurvedic farms.
“No one can stop Darjeeling in becoming Switzerland” said CM Banerjee stressing on the Kurseong and Mirik region which have to be developed first.
Yet I will come again and again to Darjeeling, We will be happy if you are happy. I don’t have time for my party workers and Bengal cannot be happy without Darjeeling. We want both Darjeeling and Junglemahal to smile" said the Chief Minister.
 “I will come for development, not for political motives” she added clarifying that she has not visited Hills for political campaigning this time too. In an obvious reference to her political adversary CPI (M), Banerjee said, "It is very easy to criticize and politicize, but I have not come here to do politics. I want Darjeeling to prosper." 
Concluding she said that Darjeeling defines the true meaning of beauty and without Darjeeling, West Bengal is in adequate. “Hills is my mother and it’s my duty for the overall development of Hills” said that Chief Minister.
Minister Roy during his address mentioned that during the Left Front’s rule in 1985- 2010 Bhanu Jayanti was never celebrated, but after the Trinamool (TNC) Government came to power there are winds of change. The CM herself visiting the hills just to partake in the celebrations depicts change, he added.
Also during the function the CM also released the Rabindra Sangeet CD composed by Hem Rasaily. The Central Railway Minister, Mukul Roy along with North Bengal Development Minister, Gautam Deb, Kalimpong MLA, Dr Harka Bahadur Chettri, litterateur Dr Gokul Sinha and Nepali Sahitya Addhyan Samiti President, Gyan Sutar were also present during the inaugural function.
