GJM election meeting for Chibo-Tashiding held

The
Gorkha Janamukti Morcha meeting was today held under the Chairmanship of SB
Chettri at the Milan Club premises in 7th Mile Kalimpong. The
meeting was organized for the election campaign of the Chibo Tashiding’s
candidate Kajim Tshering Bhutia.
The
GJM candidate of the Kurseong-Deorali, Yougen Rai, addressing the day said that
Gorkhaland Territorial Administration is a ladder to the formation of separate
State Gorkhaland. The stranded development of the Hills and be on track after
the realization of the GTA he added. The GJM candidates is more focused towards
the development of the Hills as a whole not unlike the erstwhile Councilors who
were limited to the benefits of the individuals. “The people should regard us
as a member of the GTA not Councilors” said Rai.
Similarly
Kajim Tshering Bhutia in her address said that she was staggered after hearing
the grievances at the rural places of his constituency. The villages do not
have road, electricity, drinking water, school, health center and they are
miles away from the Government benefits. They are working hard as labourers to
earn two meals a day. The gap between the urban and the rural have been so
immense and it is after the formation of the GTA, the GJM shall work for the overall
betterment of those people said Bhutia. GTA will in fact change the image of
the Hills she added. The GJM has been working its level best at what Subash
Ghising has sold away she added and said that the issue of separate State
Gorkhaland will be never elapsed by the GJM.
The
GJM Vice President Pradeep Pradhan on the other hand said that it is under the
able and sincere leadership of President Bimal Gurung that separate State
Gorkhaland can be achieved in future. He said that during the 44 months long
agitation the GJM never followed the path of violence. The public on the other
hand must feel the GJM President Bimal Gurung not the candidate while casting
their precious votes said Pradhan.
