The procedures of the GTA election will be implemented from Monday in the Hills and the nomination of the candidates will kick start from July 2 to July 9 and shall remain open for seven days excluding a Sunday in between. The scrutiny of the nomination shall be conducted on July 10, and July 12 will be the last date to pull out the name from the nominations.
Talking with the reporters the SDO LN Sherpa today said that from July 2 the Moral Code of Conduct will be implemented in the Hills. He informed that under Kalimpong Sub Division there are 13 constituencies having the total voters of 1, 65, 890 with 228 polling booths. After the GTA demarcation Rambi Primary School, Rambi Junior High School, Tarjem Primary School, Teesta High School North, South and Baluwakhani Primary School are included under Kurseong which were before in Kalimpong. He also gave the query numbers 256353, Media Cell 255409, Kalimpong Sub Division1- 255267, Algaraha Sub Division 280222 and Gorubathan 9933768904, 9474032700 for further queries on the election procedures. The Distribution Centres shall be at Mela Ground and the Receiving Counter shall be at SUMI in place of the Kalimpong College which also shall be the place for the counting of the votes said SDO Sherpa.
