Kalimpong, August 04:
In one hand while Darjeeling was witnessing the Gorkhaland Territorial
Administration (GTA) oath taking today, in the other, the independent
candidate, Sanchabir Subba was busy conducting a public meeting at the Barbot
sports ground, Kalimpong, consoling his supporters not to be disheartened by
his loss. Subba was rejected by the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) on July 12,
2012 for going against the Morcha by contesting the elections. However, the
Morcha shunned Subba today announced that he will still be supporting the
Morcha in the future similar
to earlier days.
Recommending the public to voice for their issues he stated that he feels like
a winner, though he has lost the elections. “If Kalyan Dewan is the uncontested
member, then I am the unvoiced leader of 41 no Nimbong- Gitabling Constituency
for I have worked towards recognition of this place,” he underlined. “After, I
contested for the elections; all the GJM Central Committee leaders were
compelled to come to the Constituency and further, understood its problems. It
will be good for everybody if developments take place here,” he added.
Further, in his address, Subba directed his supporters to be ready for the
forthcoming Panchayat elections. He also mentioned that they (he and his
supporters) will be according a warm reception to Dewan. He also declared that
he will not be setting up a Party of his own or will be joining hands with
other political Parties. Instead he will be attached with the Morcha. “If the
GJM Chief, Bimal Gurung in the future calls on the Gorkhaland agitation, then I
shall support him”, he announced
