Town gears up to celebrate 5238th Sri Krishna Janmasthami
MUKESH SHARMAKalimpong, August 09:
The preparations for the 5238th Sri Krishna Janmasthami is at full swing at the Mangal Dhaam and at Sri Krishna Pranami Mandir situated at Ichhey. Mangal Das Ji, the leader of the Pranami religion followers had started this auspicious celebration at Kalimpong in 1940. After the successful completion of a month long Sri Krishna Katha and Gita Path (recitation), the devotees were distributed Prasad today.
The last Path was conducted today morning at the
Pranami Mandir situated in the main town, whereas, in the afternoon Bhajan Kirtan was conducted at the
Pranami Mandir located at Ichhey. A Shobha
Yatra will be taken out tomorrow from the Mangal Dhaam, which after encircling
the town shall dissolve in the Dhaam itself. Later in the evening the Sri Krishna Janmasthami celebration
shall follow. Cultural programmes and Bhajan
Kirtan will also be conducted.
