GTA members’ salary more than the State’s Ministers

The allocation of
salaries to all the members of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA)
has yet again earned allegations for the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM). The Akhil
Bharatiya Gorkha League (ABGL) General Secretary, Pratap Khati, ridiculed that
the GTA members under the GJM who always demanded for Gorkhaland, actually were
in need of a job.
The salaries for the
GTA members have been fixed and its details have been forwarded to the State
Government. The monthly salary of the GTA Executive Chief, Bimal Gurung is Rs
50,000, Deputy Executive Chief Col. Ramesh Alley’s is Rs 45,000 followed by Rs
40,000 to the Chairman, Rs 35,000 to the Vice Chairman and Rs 30,000 to the
working members.
“The West Bengal CM
does not even receive her salary and the salaries of the Ministers are just Rs
8000. GTA members fetching more salary than the State’s Ministers sounds very
funny”, he added.
Khati also alleged the
GJM of not doing anything for the Gorkhaland Personnel (GLP) formed under them
and in lieu are working towards filling their own pockets.
