A meeting of between the Gorkha Dukh Niwarak Sammelan (GDNS), Kalimpong Sangrakshan Samiti and Neora was held at the GDNS hall today. The meeting discussed at length the pertaining issue of the cleaning of the 13 million gallon capacity water reservoir near Algarah.

The reservoir which lacks cleanliness since years falls under the jurisdiction of Neora. During the last week of September when Neora started vacating the said reservoir, the PHE and GDNS protesting the same had written a letter questioning why the reservoir is being vacated after the monsoon. Hence, due to this the Neora stopped vacating the reservoir. It was decided during today’s meet between the Neora, PHE, GDNS and Kalimpong Sangrakshan Samiti that spot verification will be carried out at the reservoirs of Algarah, Sangsey and Delo.
