SUMI conducts NSS of Darjeeling District Zone II

The SUMI conducted the
National Service Scheme (NSS) of the Darjeeling District Zone II taking
different NSS schools today under which quiz, debate, painting, singing and
dancing competitions were held.
3 students from
Darjeeling, 2 from Kurseong, 5 from Kalimpong, and 1 each from Gorubathan and
Naxalbari participated in the programme. The winners at the Zonal Level will be
participating in the State Level programme to be held at Coochbehar from 12- 14
December, 2012. They will be representing their respective Zones at the State
Level.
During today’s quiz
competition, Nischal Khatri of SUMI stood 1st, followed by Anthony
Lepcha from St. George’s High School, Kalimpong in 2nd and Minju Tamang
from Kalimpong Girls High School in 3rd position. Likewise, Kiran
Oli from SUMI was the winner of the debate competition along with Bijay Subba
from Ghoom Boys High School, Darjeeling and Kushal Rai from St. George’s High
School, Kalimpong in the 2nd and the 3rd positions
respectively.
Bina Rai from St.
Alphonsus High School, Kurseong, Sapna Subba from Ram Krishna Mission Girls
High School, Kurseong and Prabhakar Pradhan from SUMI were the winners of the
painting competition. Further, the dance competition saw the dance group of Ram
Krishna Mission Girls High School, Kurseong as thw winners, while the Anurag
Bisht of Ghoom Boys High School, Darjeeling won the singing competition.
