3 child labourers were rescued on Saturday from 16 Mile area. It was done through Caritas project under Child Line project of Bal Suraksha Abhiyan under the leadership of Tej Kumar Thapa and help of the Police. The rescued children were of 12, 10 and 8 year old. These children were made to do much work and were not paid too. All of them, residents of different tea gardens of Jalpaiguri will be taken to Darjeeling Child Welfare Committee on Monday. All the 3 families who were making them work are penalized with Rs 20,000/- fine. The said homes were raided after an individual gave information over 1098 number.
