Under one of the beneficial schemes of the West Bengal Labour Department, 8 drivers received financial amount for their children’s education. One of the drivers also received amount for his wife’s delivery. Some drivers received cheque of Rs 4000/- while some received cheque of Rs 6000/-.

The Drivers’ Union President, Tshering Dorjee Bhutia thanking the department for the same informed that out of the 1700 drivers under the union, only 400 have been enlisted for the said scheme. In order to make the drivers aware of the scheme, an awareness programme will be held at Jolung, Gorubathan, Pedong, etc in the 2nd week of January.
