Kalimpong police arrested absconding Sonam Dorjee Bhutia from Panighatta on December 30 midnight. Accused 36-years-old fled on June 1 from the police custody by making an excuse of using the lavatory. As per the police source, some reliable source informed them about the presence of Bhutia at Panighatta. The Kalimpong police with the help from Panighatta police arrested him.

The Kalimpong police team earlier had also reached Kolkata to apprehend the absconding but they returned empty handed earlier. Bhutia used to collect money through forgery. He used to lie the people by saying that he is from the Intelligence Bureau and the Custom. A case under section 224 was filed against him after he fled from the custody . He was placed before the court today.
