Kalimpong, January 27:
A deer belonging to the species of black deer was found at the SUMI Mission Compound today. The deer with pointed horns had fallen at a water tank near the SUMI Principal, NR Pradhan’s residence. It is opined that the deer which wandered its way from the forest fell into the tank after being chased by the dogs. The children living at the Principal’s house pulled out the deer from the tank and tied it up. Later it was taken to the Forest Department office and handed over. The department will further hand it over to the Wild Life Department. The age of the deer is said to be 1 and ½ years, it has been informed.
