More than twenty thousand Gorkhas in an around from Nagaland and other Neighboring states, participated in rally  under the theme atrocities against women and girl child. The programmed which was spearheaded by Dimapur  Gorkha Union   ,  showed their anguish  towards rape victim and child rape  to the Gorkha community. It was also supported by many frontal organizations and other communities.

            Kumar Subba , Chairman Dimapur Gorkha Union  lamented that   why this heinous crime  is not under control and why the state government is mumped till date. The people gathered were not called by any organizations but the evil souls of the rapist have called them he added.

Adding to it he clarified that the protest was not organized to voice for the Gorkha daughters and child but was for the crimes against any women irrespective of caste, community and religion.

On the key note address, Dipak Lama  , Chairman  Disciplinary  action committee, said  that the horrific incidents taking place in the state and the sexual violence against women and girl has reached  to the zenith. 3 rapes and 2 murders in a span of 3 months had been witnessed.  Gorkhas are a peace loving people but time and again more crimes has been witnessed against the community said Lama and added that the government of India should really act on it. He stressed that it is a bounden responsibility of every person to raise voice for any kind of atrocities against women and girl child.

He also warned the state government to staged fast un to death if justice are not given to the victims in Nagaland.

On the note  Geoffrey Yaden,  Editor Nagaland Post, said that the heinous crime should be condoled , by one and all  , and  preventive  measures  should be taken place   by the State and Central government.

Arun Upadhya , Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh , Zonal President ,expressed his solidarity  towards the victims. He said that the Gorkhas, and the women in particular must be protected.

Dr. Temsula , Chairperson NSCW, in his addressed encouraged women to come forward till the justice is delivered. He questioned on the mentality of the rapist who are not leaving even a girl child of 4 year-old.

 Naga  Women Hoho, Dimapur H.wotsa even cried in the staged when she saw massive support from the men side on the crime.

Thanking the DGU for the constructive effort the Naga Council, Dimapur , Medzhipehma  Town Women Organization  expressed their gratitude towards the victim and also thanked  all the people who were gathered.

Many of the speakers assured that the Gorkhas residing in Nagalnd will not be discriminated. Representative from Gorkha Janmukti Morcha , Suk Bhd Rai and other  dignitaries were present in said rally .

 It is mentioned that Meena Rai, was raped and butchered at Medziphema by MD Saidul Alam, a Bangladeshi immigrant on 2nd nov’2013,  followed by the rape of 4 year old girl at Pangjong village under Senapati district, Manipur by one Raju Sorin (24) Adivasi, on 25th Dec 2012. Againg a class vi (six) student was raped by one of the abductor at Borjan near Naginimora under Mon district , and lastly  on 3rd of Jan 2013, Sundari Khatun, mother of 3 (three) was hacked to death by her husband Salim Ali at Para medical colony, Kohima.

The rally also reached the office of the Deputy Commissioner  at Dimapur  , and handed over the  memorandum  to Prime Minster, with a copy to the State Chief minister .

The programme was chaired by Sanju Pandey, Advisor DGU and it winded up with the vote of thanks being delivered by SB Thapa , General Sect . Dimapur Gorkha Union .
