A total of 18 runners from Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Kurseong and Sikkim have today left for Mumbai International Marathon which is scheduled to be held on January 20 at Mumbai.

 The president of the Himalayan Marathon Runners Association Mala Sherpa said that they will showcase their best whatever they have in the marathon. Alike to previous year, the runners this time too shall voice the demand of Gorkhaland, we are Gorkhas and proud to be Indian she added.

Out of the 18 runners 13 are from Kalimpong, 1 from Sikkim, 1 from Kurseong and 3 from Darjeeling. Amongst them two runners will take part in both the 42 kmts marathon and the half marathon. The GTA deputy chief col Ramesh Allay provided some financial aid to the runners.
