Kalimpong gears for Tea & Tourism Fest

Kalimpong, December 31:
Preparations are underway for the 3 daylong Tea and Tourism Fest in Kalimpong. Stages are being made in Janmukti Park, Town Hall and Main Road for the fest which starts from 2nd January. No vehicles will ferry through the Main Road, which is usually packed with vehicles, from 9 in the morning till 5 in the afternoon during the fest. Traffic points have been changed keeping in mind the fest. The buses parked at Motor Stand will be parked at Novelty throughout the event. Other small vehicles coming from Siliguri are to be parked at Mela Ground. Those vehicles which are parked at the Main Road will be parked at Silver Oaks, Motor Stand and Narayan Das for 3 days. The route from Trikon Park till Motor Stand will be been given No Way. Only one vehicle is permitted to stand before Algarah, Pedong, Gangtok, Siliguri, Darjeeling and Himalaya Travels.
The President of the Drivers Union, Dorjee Tshering Bhutia has appealed one and all to follow these new traffic norms.
Likewise, the vehicles parked at Relli Road will be accommodated at the way towards BCKV from New Year onwards.
