Krishi Mela to improve economic conditions of farmers- Dr Saumitra Mohan

The Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) principal secretary Dr Saumitra Mohan as a chief guest opened the village Olympics games in the fourth day of the Relly-Pala Missiontar Krishi Mela today. The sports had 100mtr race in the first phase whose finals will be held tomorrow at the last day of the mela.
Chief guest Dr Saumitra Mohan in his address said that the farmers had played a pivotal in developing and shaping the Indian economy after independence. The Green Revolution has made the country self-sufficient and the credit goes to the farmers at large. The Krishi Mela will help the farmers to a great extent and it also helps in preserving the rich culture and tradition of the place. The Mela will definitely help the economic condition of the farmers and they will also get encouraged he added.
Later on the day, he also visited all the stalls displayed in the Mela. The proprietor of Help Tourism, Raj Basu interacted with the people and encouraged them in bringing tourism in the villages. He said that different programmes from time to time can be organized to attract tourists in the place. The publicity and promotion of the place can be done through the West Bengal tourism department website. Basu has also assured of all possible help in the near future.
