Algarah Premier Knockout Cricket Tourney starts

Kalimpong, March 16:
 The Algarah Premier Knockout Cricket Tournament has commenced from today at Algarah playground. It is an initiative of the Algarah Block Development office and Algarian United to keep the youths away from drugs and other bad habits. The inaugural function today was held under the presidentship of deputy magistrate Pritam Limboo. 40 number constituency Sabhasad Dawa Lepcha, deputy magistrate Hirak Roy and Morcha sub divisional committee member S Thakuri were present as guests. A total of 24 teams are participating in the tournament. The first match was played between Meteli Gunners of Meteli Block, Cooch Bihar and 16 Mile team. The former team easily won against the latter and has entered the second round. The finals of the tournament will be held on March 30. The winners will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and trophy while the runners-up will be awarded cash prize of Rs. 5,000 and a trophy.
