The members of NCC troop Nos. 442 and 629 of SUMI today carried a cleanliness drive at the premises of Kalimpong Sub Divisional Hospital. They weeded the grasses and also cleaned the drains. The trainers of both the troops, Ganesh Dahal and Raj Chandra Chamling were also present during the cleaning. The children with all their zeal carried out the cleanliness drive.

Trainer Dahal while speaking to the media said that the children under the NCC should realize their responsibilities towards the society along with imbibing patriotism and discipline in their lives. Thus, the cleanliness drive was conducted for the same reason, he added.

He further said that similar drives will be conducted in other places of Kalimpong for which the children will be trained. They will also be trained on how they can help people during the time of calamities.
