Holi Dhamaka adds charm to Holi celebrations

Kalimpong, March 25:
With the Holi fervor already hitting the Kalimpong town, the Holi celebrations organizing committee held a Holi Dhamaka programme at Town Hall, today. Pandit Mahabir Prasad Sharma graced the occasion as the chief guest held under the presidentship of Ram Vilash Deoshariya.
In the outset of the programme 22 elders of the town and a team from New Delhi who have arrived in the town to partake in the religious programme at Mangal Dhaam, were felicitated by the organizing committee. Traditional dress competition was also held in which 30 children had participated.
It has been informed that on March 26, 2013 the effigy of Holika will be burnt at Mela Ground at 11:45 p.m., while an extravagant programme will be held the same day at RC Mantri Road from 8 p.m. It has also been decided that all shops will be closed on March 27, 2013, which is the main day of the Holi festival.
