Special prayers and programmes were held at different churches of Kalimpong marking the eve of Good Friday, today. At the Mary Mother of God Church in Reli, a blood donation camp was organized. Dr S Lepcha and his team were present during the camp organized by the Catholic Association.

‘Krus ka Rasta’ (Way to the Cross) programme marked the religious evening. Father Edward Beretto during the occasion said that Good Friday is an auspicious day, as on this day Lord Jesus to save the mankind gave his life. Lord Jesus has taught to love each other. Thus, the blood donation camp is to follow the path shown by Lord Jesus, he added.

Likewise, a special prayer ceremony was held at the St Mac Farlene Memorial Church which was led by Father SS Lepcha. The churches at Bongbusty and other areas also observed the day.
