Kalimpong, March 30:

A meeting of the journalists from the electronic media of Kalimpong was held in which journalists from 8 different channels attended the meet. Arun Kumar Rasaily, President of Kalimpong Press Club in his address highlighted the roles and responsibilities of journalism. Likewise, Jilas Ghatraj, Director of Hill Channel and journalist Bhuwan Khanal highlighted the need of forming a committee of the journalists from electronic media, which was unanimously welcomed during the meet. It was decided that the committee will be named Local Channel Association of Kalimpong. Simultaneously, executive members for the newly formed body were also selected. They are Jilas Ghatraj as President, Sandhya Pradhan as Vice President, Khadka Chettri as Secretary, Sunil Prasad as Joint Secretary, Mani Tamang as Treasurer, Rajiv Pradhan as Joint Treasurer and others. Further, Arun Kumar Rasaily and Bhuwan Khanal, former President of Journalists Association was nominated as the Advisors for the association.
