Upgradation of Samthar Samalbong PHC

Teesta Low Dam Project Stage-III, Rambi has taken up an initiative of upgradation of Primary Health Centre (PHC) & Maternity Health Centre (MHC) in the rural areas of the Darjeeling Hills and in the Project vicinity area under CSR project “Dhanwantari”.
In a solemn function held on 06th April 2013, Pingal Kispotta, Manager (HR), N. Bhadra Singh, Manager (Civil), Dr. N.M. Prasad, Sr. DCMO of Teesta Low Dam Project –III, Rambi, NHPC Limited handed over 56 medical equipments to Samthar Samalbong PHC & Maternity Health Centre. Dr. S. Chakraborty, M.O. I/C Samthar PHC accepted the medical equipments from NHPC Ltd, TLDP-III.
The items included Oxygenator, Nebulizer machines, Oxygen cylinders with accessories, Autoclave, Delivery Table, Baby Cradle, Operation Theatre Light, Wheel Chair, Albuminometers, Kocher’s Forceps, Thermometers, IV Stands, Screen Stands, Stethscopes, Patients Examination Table, etc.
Special emphasis was given on upgradation of the Maternity Unit of the Samthar PHC and items like delivery table, baby cradle, operation theatre light were provided.
In his speech N. Bhadra Sigh, Manager (Civil) assured the local masses of NHPC’s continuous support in providing better facilities in the field of education, health and infrastructure support and urged the local people to co-operate in successful commissioning of the project.
Local villagers and members of village development committee expressed their gathered to the effort undertaken by NHPC Ltd, TLDP-III to upgrade the Primary Health Centres of Darjeeling hills.
