Kalimpong 23 July: 

One Edward Lepcha (28), resident of  Saint Augustine School Compound, Kalimpong today allegedly  killed his aunt Durga Diyali (50)  brutally smashing her head with a rock and wood at around 3:30 PM.

 It was learnt that a family dispute was the reason behind the murder. The accused has been reported to be mentally unstable. As soon as the news of the incident was reported to the Kalimpong Police, the officials rushed to the site where the gravely injured Mrs. Diyali was sent to the Kalimpong Sub Divisonal Hospital for medical aid but the doctors pronounced her declared brought dead.

Meanwhile the police have arrested the accused Lepcha and will be produced before the Kalimpong Court tomorrow. The dead body has been sent for post mortem.
