The prestigious Saheed Cup Football Tournament kicks off

The prestigious invitational Saheed Cup Football Tournament was inaugurated today at Kalimpong Mela Ground. The tournament is being organized by the Kalimpong Sports Association .17 teams from Bhutan,Bangladesh,Nepal,Jalandar ,Ranidanga,Darjeeling kalimpong ,kurseong,siliguri are taking part.
The inaugural day saw Sikkim Armed police team victorious against superstars Darjeeling by a margin of 6- 1. Meanwhile K.F.C Siliguri won the second match of the day by beating Sikkim Sports Acadamy with
2-1.The finals of the tournament will be played on August 3, 2013.
The president of Darjeeling Gorkha sports Association Dawa Lama was the chief guest for the day while Sanju Pradhan capatian of East Bengal football club was the guest of honour. Also present were Lieutenant Col. MS Gurung from 27 Mt. Div.representative of KSA , dignitaries from Sikkim, etc were present one lakh prize money has been announced for the winner and Rs.50,000 for the runners up team.
