Laxmi
Tamang and Arbind Rai, two children from BSA were successful in giving their Higher
Secondary Examination 2014 with good grades. Arbind got 354 marks(70.8%) and
Laxmi 306 marks(61.2%) in the exam whose
result was declared today itself
Both
the children came to BSA Child Labour Rehabilitation Centre in 2007. Before
they had come to the centre, they were working as child labourers. Sisters
from BSA found them while conducting the survey and with the full consent of their
parents and the employer, they were withdrawn from work and brought to the
centre.
Sister
Subeshna Thapa program co ordinator of BSA told that the organization believe
that education is the fundamental right of every child and no child should be
deprived of their basic rights simply because he / she does not have access to
it or does not have the resources to realize his / her dreams. BSA has proved
that ordinary children can change themselves and they can achieve everything if
they get opportunity.
They
feel proud that they have been able to do well in their examination. They feel
that BSA has done so much for them that Arbind would grow up to be a good
lawyer and help the organization while Laxmi wants to be a good teacher .
