Party leader Bhupendra Lepcha , has been made the new youth president
of Darjeeling TMC. He will be replacing Chewang Bhutia who has been
appointed as a member in District TMC. Rajen Mukhia , president of
Darjeeling District TMC has confirmed the news saying that the decision
was taken by the party high command.He said that last week after a
election review meeting TMC party chief and CM dissolved all the unit of
the party in different district. Following the same the youth body was
too dissolved and Lepcha has been appointed the president.
Bhupendra lepcha hails from Sonada and has fight the State assembly polls from Kurseong in 2011 coming in third Position
A lawyer by profession he was the spokesperson of the Lepcha Rights Movement which demanded the separate board
Lepcha is also considered as a close aid of CM Banerjee and TMC secretary Mukul Roy

Subba TMC youth member from kalimpong has welcomed the decision of the
party high command and has said that he will be warmly received by party
in Kalimpong soon.
